Brain Boosting Smoothie

Hello Reader,

My friend Charis sent me her agenda notes for our upcoming retreat, Keeping Your Brain Brilliant, on July 15th and 16th. Wow! Everything looks terrific and is jam-packed and full of valuable information and recommendations that we can all benefit from.

Besides many facts and resources, Charis added some great recipes to include in our handouts and study guide.

I’m sharing one of her fun recipes here, a Brain Boosting Smoothie!

Summer is the best time to drink cold smoothies, so check out her yummy recipe to enjoy during these hot steamy days. The fun thing about smoothies is that you can tailor them to your own personal tastes and preferences, making them sweeter and adjusting the temperature and ingredients to suit your digestion and health needs.

We still have several openings left in our upcoming retreat.

We are about to close registration, so take action today if you want to join us.

This small intimate gathering has the ability to make a lasting impact on your health and well-being.

You can reply to this email if you have questions or need more details. Hope to see you there!

Brain Boosting Smoothie

This smoothie is not very sweet. That’s better for your brain, but if you need it sweeter, add more ripe banana or unsweetened applesauce.

Blend the following ingredients in a sturdy blender such as Vitamix or Nutri Bullet:

  • 1 cup kefir, or substitute coconut milk, hemp milk, or other (not oat)
  • Or 1 cup of nervine tea such as skullcap and milky oat
  • 1 cup fresh or frozen blueberries or other ripe berries
  • 1/2 avocado, optional
  • 1/4 cup raw nuts/seeds - as fresh as possible! Pumpkin and whole flax are great.
  • 1 handful of dark greens or salad mix
  • 1/2 green banana, or riper if you prefer a sweeter taste
  • 1-2 tsp cocoa powder, unsweetened, optional
  • 1-3 tsp Marshmallow root powder or Acacia powder, optional
  • 1 tsp each, Reishi powder and or Lion’s Mane powder
  • 1 TBS Barlean’s Omega 3 fish oil, lemon flavored
  • A snip or two of fresh herbs: Tulsi, Rosemary, Mint, Sage
  • A dash of your favorite spices: cardamom, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, vanilla bean

In health and healing,

Nancy
